FAZ MTN SUPER LEAGUE WEEK 28 DONE! HERE ARE THE RESULTS AND THE STANDINGS

********************************

MUFULIRA WANDERERS 2-2 NKANA

What a game and am sure the Mufulira faithful will have a better night afterthis game even when they have not picked the three points. The character in the game was coming back every time they went down. Ronald Kampamba (Sate Sate) scored first and Ben Chengo, not too fancied equalized. The game stayed long on 1-1 untill the league’s top scorer scored his 16th goal of the season for Nkana to lead 2-1 and scare and pain would have engulfed the Mufulira Wanderers fans but Taonga Bwembya canceled the Nkana lead with another equalizer.

That’s draw number 16 and Mighty still remains in the relegation zone but catches up with Green Eagles on 28 points but have inferior goal difference to that of Green Eagles .

That draw for Mighty brings a number of teams into relegation fight which includes, Nkwazi, Nakambala Leopards, Lumwana Radiants, NAPSA, Nchanga Rangers, Green Eagles and Lusaka Dynamos.

Mufulira Blackpool will be confirmed relegated with either a draw or loss in their next encounter.

It’s a long season still. Hold your fire

………………………………………………………………….

FOREST RANGERS 3-1 KABWE WARRIORS

Forest Rangers against all odds punished Kabwe Warriors with a 3-1 score line, Kobe Chipeta, Felix Nyaenda and Logic Chin’gandu scored for Forest and that was enough to punish Warriors. Looks like the ultimatums given to Fathy are impacting the Kabwe outfit negatively and they are just lucky that they collected good points in the first round or else they would have been in trouble with the way things are going.

Silon Jere got the consolation for Kabwe Warriors.

Forest Rangers looks safe for now but things can change if they don’t put things to a good run from this victory. Things are tough down there.

…………………………………………………………………

NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS 1-0 GREEN BUFFALOES

A very cagey game in Mazabuka and the winners were Nakambala Leopards who desperately needed that win to have better breathing space away from the relegation zone. Nakambala Leopards are not yet safe on 33 points but the three points have seriously raised the hopes of the Mazabuka followers of Nakambala Leopards.

Lameck Banda was the scorer of the only goal.

……………………………………………………………………..

LUMWANA RADIANTS 1-0 LUSAKA DYNAMOS

Eddie Sinyangwe scored the only goal of the game in the battle of relegation in the game played in Lumwana on Saturday afternoon. The massive three points for Lumwana who jump to ninth position with a game in hand and they now accumulate 33 points. The other teams on 33 points are kwazi and Forest Rangers.

For Lusaka Dynamos, it’s a very bad result as they are left in the relegation zone on 26 points one point behind Mufulira Wanderers who walk on to the pitch tomorrow against Nkana in Mufulira Wanderers.

NKWAZI 0-0 MUFULIRA BLACKPOOL

Mufulira Blackpool is proving a lot of analysts wrong towards the end of the season as they are picking crucial points on the road. That is the 11th draw of the season and now Nkwazi joins Red Arrows and Mufulira Wanderers as the other teams that have failed to beat Mufulira Blackpool this season in two games. But its too late for the relegation fight as they have to win all their games to have a chance of survival.

Blackpool will enjoy the last games of the season as they will definitely play a big part in seeing who goes down with them to the zones.

For Nkwazi though the point is not good enough, they will be relaxed that it is not a loss, they are eighth and not yet safe as teams on the chasing pack can easily catch up with them.

RED ARROWS 2-0 LUSAKA TIGERS

Finally Red Arrows have finally managed to score two goals in one game this season and thanks to Festus Mbewe penalty in the first half with another goal coming from Adubelo Phiri in the second half pushed Red Arrows to 40 points mark and three behind ZESCO United who have a game in hand with the Airmen. But of Course Zesco have a number of other games in hand. A very good result for the Airmen.

For Lusaka Tigers its another bad day in the office and are only 10 points above Mufulira Blackpool with another 5 points behind Lusaka Dynamos, things aint looking so good for the team yaku Matero. We shall wait and see.

week-28

MY STATISTICS

NUMBER OF GOALS SCORED: 12

BEST TEAM OF WEEK 28:

FOREST RARNGERS

Forest Rangers will get the best team in week 28 for me with that 3-1 demolition of Kabwe Warriors and the consistence of Felix Nyaenda in scoring is helping the team perfom better.

MOST IMPROVED:

MUFULIRA WANDERERS

There has been a lot written about Mufulira Wanderers going down to the Zones but if that impact and resilience to even come from behind and score could be realized then this talk of relegation will just change to something good. The 2-2 draw may not be good but it schowed cahrecter and they get the most improved team in week 28.

FIGHTING RELEGATION:

MUFULIRA WANDERERS

Still in the thick of things

BEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

FELIX NYAENDA

He doesn’t stop scoring and that was goal number 11 for the season and that is massive and gets the player of the week for me.

WEEK 29 PROSPECTS

1.Power Dynamos Vs Mufulira Wanderers

2.Mufulira Blackpool Vs Green Eagles

3.Nkana Vs Nakambala Leopards

4.Kabwe Warriors Vs Nkwazi
