*********************************************
GAMES TO BE PLAYED ON SATURDAY 16TH & SUNDAY 17TH APRIL, 2016

SATURDAY 16TH
Nkana Vs Nchanga Rangers
Nkana Stadium
15:00hrs
Live on Super sport

Nkana will have to forget about the blip away to Lusaka Tigers in Week five at Independence Stadium as they face a rejuvenated Nchanga Rangers with their last away win in week four away to Lusaka Dynamos.

This is evenly poised, Nchanga is second and Nkana first and should Nchanga manage to beat Nkana in Kitwe on Saturday, they cut the difference to only one point and it will be game on.

That’s the matter Nkana fans wouldn’t want to think about as they are thinking of getting to 15 points after this fixture.
Nchanga Rangers have done it before at Nkana Stadium and their last victory there was in 2014 when they beat Nkana 2-1 and how they will be hoping to repeat that fit.

But this is a different Nkana and I think they have so much belief in themselves and it will be difficult for a Nchanga team that is playing so well together without really stars in the team.

These two teams have had the two players who have scored own goals so far this season.

Kamuzati scored an own goal against ZANACO and Walter Bwalya scored an own goal against Lusaka Tigers. They will be hoping that is the last time that is happening.

The last 14 games between the two are interesting, 14 games, both have won four drawn six and lost four. The winner of this encounter gets the lead and it will be vital.

With the way the two teams are playing am going for a Nkana win but they have to start managing working from the start of the game.

MY VERDICT: Nkana 3-0 Nchanga Rangers.

Lusaka Dynamos Vs Power Dynamos
Sunset Stadium
15:00hrs

One person who wouldn’t want to be involved in this fixture is Conlyde Luchanga who scored for Power Dynamos in the Charity Shield Semi-final against Zesco Warriors but was recalled to his parent club.

Lusaka Dynamos have only won one game this season drawn one and lost two.

That amounts to four points and the team needs to improve as they seem to be a different team from the team we saw last season and in the off season with a lot of hope with the news of the big Lusaka Dynamos being the bigger subject.

For Power Dynamos, every game has too much pressure and it’s now a team that is counting game after game because they just don’t know how the team will perform.

Three points in this encounter and Power Dynamos can actually end Saturday second if other results go their way.

In the last 12 games played between the two sides Power Dynamos have six wins, three draws and three losses.

Definitely the better side of the two. Lusaka Dynamos are desperately looking for points but they are just don’t look like a team that could get points in this encounter.

But big games are always a turning point. This will be a fourth draw in the last 12 games.

MY VERDICT: Lusaka Dynamos 1-1 Power Dynamos

Red Arrows Vs Forest Rangers
Nkoloma Stadium
15:00hrs

Red Arrows are getting there slowly but the progress isn’t good enough and need to start acting now if they are to start getting up the log.

They are in relegation zone as of week five with two games in hand. They host Forest Rangers who have won once drawn twice and lost once.

It’s not an easy fixture as Forest are equally playing good football with challenge of making the final ball count. Red Arrows laboured to a 1-0 loss away to Power Dynamos in week five while Forest Rangers were resting due to the commitment of Zesco in the CAF Champions League.

Head to Head of 16 games puts this encounter very close, there is very little to choose from these two sides, Red Arrows have four wins, nine draws and three defeats but the last time Forest Rangers beat Red Arrows was in 2011. I think this will be a home win.

MY VERDICT: Red Arrows 2-1 Forest Rangers
*****************************************
Green Buffaloes Vs ZANACO
Independence Stadium
15:00hrs

Lusaka Derby and the game of the weekend for me with all credentials that this fixture hold. It’s a big match and a real test for ZANACO this season.

Zanaco have two wins out of two and another win and they could end the season second if other results go their way.

Green Buffaloes have disappointed in their four games, an away win to Green Eagles, coupled with two draws and a loss to Nchanga Rangers describes their season so far.

Not a good start for a team that was one of the teams pitted to win the league. ZANACO are on the verge of elimination in the CAF Confederation Cup if they don’t score in their second tie so this will be a very good training encounter.

Zanaco has a very good head to head record against GBFC, in the last 20 games, they have beaten GBFC 10 times, drawn seven and lost three.

GBFC has not beaten ZANACO in the last five games now and the last time they got all three points in a league game was in 2013 on 21st April when they beat ZANACO 4-0.

After that Zanaco has won three times and drew twice. This will be another win by Zanaco at Independence Stadium

MY VERDICT: Green Buffaloes 1-3 ZANACO

ZESCO United Vs Nkwazi
Levy Mwanawasa
15:00hrs

The Champions are back, they have only played one game in the Super League against Power Dynamos which they won 2-1 and they are in relegation zone. Four games in hand and if they were to win all the four then they would go above NKANA.

But that’s a long day’s work. They play for the first time at Levy Mwanawasa in the Super League for the first time and it’s against Nkwazi one of the three teams that beat ZESCO last season 2-1.

Actually Nkwazi is one of the few teams Zesco failed to beat in the 2015 season as the other game ended 1-1 in Lusaka. Nkwazi are rejuvenated with Steward Chikandiwa the League’s top scorer with four goals and relishing to score against ZESCO.

But I think this ZESCO team of 2016 is actually stronger than the 2015 season one and Nkwazi will have to be at their best if they are to come out with anything from Ndola.

It’s one of the fixtures that Nkwazi has enjoyed in recent years as the last time Zesco beat Nkwazi was in 2010 when Nkwazi lost at home 3-1, that season Zesco won the league, Zesco actually did a double against Nkwazi with a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture.

After that Nkwazi has won three times and drew three times.
I don’t think Nkwazi can beat this ZESCO team currently
.
MY VERDICT: Zesco 2-0 Nkwazi

NAPSA Stars Vs Green Eagles
Woodlands Stadium
15:00hrs

NAPSA is one the three teams without a win so far this season. Others are Mufulira Blackpool and Red Arrows. They are in a hurry to change that statistics at home to Green Eagles this weekend. Not an easy fixture.

Green Eagles has lost three games, won one and drawn one. I don’t know why NAPSA is failing to win games because I think they have very good players that can actually mount for a serious challenge that can fight for the top six position but to do that they need to improve their defence that has seen them let in six goals already but are second to Lumwana Radiants that have allowed seven.

If NAPSA doesn’t win this encounter then fears of fighting relegation early in the season would have started.

Green Eagles has never beaten NAPSA in a League Game. They played each other six times and NAPSA has won twice and four have been draws.

I don’t think Green Eagles are ready to beat NAPSA for the first time in the league.

MY VERDICT: NAPSA 0-0 Green Eagles
***************************************
Lumwana Radiants Vs Mufulira Blackpool
Lumwana Grounds
15:00hrs

The two teams that qualified to the Super league from division one north meet for the first time this season but this time in a different league.

THE SUPER LEAGUE.

Mufulira Blackpool are winless in the in four games so far this season while Lumwana Radiants have one win, one draw and two losses.

Lumwana Radiants lost their first game of Division One season last season to Mufulira Blackpool 1-0 and they will be hoping that doesn’t repeat in this encounter, actually Blackpool was the only team to have collected maximum points in Lumwana last season.

The game in Mufulira the two teams drew. But I think Lumwana Radiants have improved steadily than Mufulira Blackpool in the past one year and this will be that gauge.

I think Lumwana has the edge over Mufulira Blackpool and they will win this encounter after losing two consecutive games on the road.

For me the decision by Lumwana to play three games away is the reason they are in this situation and they should hence follow the fixture if they are to avoid being in such a situation.

But I think they will win this one.
MY VERDICT: Lumwana Radiants 3-1 Mufulira Blackpool

Nakambala Leopards Vs Kabwe Warriors
Nakambala Stadium
15:00hrs

The only game I ever watched in Nakambala big stadium was in 2014 against Nakambala Leopards Vs Kabwe Warriors and Kabwe Warriors won that encounter 1-0.

Actually Nakambala Leopards have only beaten Kabwe Warriors twice in 2011 1-0 and in 2007 another 1-0. That’s a total of 10 encounters.

But Kabwe Warriors have won five times, the three have been draws. Kabwe Warriors are coming from a big win against Mufulira Wanderers while Nakambala are coming from an away draw against Mufulira Blackpool. Well poised.

Nakambala always has a very good defence at home and team’s struggle beating the Sugar boys but Josephat Kasusu looks like he will enjoy his loan move from Nkana to Kabwe Warriors this season.

The last game between these two sides was in Kabwe in 2014, the season Kabwe Warriors were relegated to division one but they won that encounter in Kabwe 1-0/ If Kabwe Warriors is to compete for honours this season these are must win games but Nakambala won’t give points freely and will make teams sweat. I think this will be a draw.

MY VERDICT: Nakambala Leopards 1-1 Kabwe Warriors

Sunday 17th April, 2016,
Mufulira Wanderers Vs Lusaka Tigers
Shinde, Mufulira (Live on SS9)
15:00 Hours
Live on Supersport

Mpaka Litente Vs Tiger Tanaka. This is what this tie is all about. Two teams with famous slogans in the country.

Mufulira Wanderers will have to score to make sure their slogans makes sense while Lusaka Tigers would have to be resilient to make sure they able to be strong until the last minute.

Manfred Chabinga needs to understand his team too well because they seem all over the place at the moment and this has to be done soon if they are to do better than the fifth position of 2015. This is a tough season as teams look so prepared.

Speaking to Coach Chanda of Lusaka Tigers has serious belief that his team is not going for a loss in Mufulira and the worst they can get is a draw.

The Coach who failed to single out a player as a player of the season so far says the team is resilience and the supporters are pushing the team with the slogan TIGER TANAKA and again it will show at Shinde.

There seems to be apprehension among Mighty Mufulira Wanderers followers and the coach for once has to listen to the cries if the team is to come out of this situation.

But generally its time players started fighting for their positions and not get too comfortable that they own positions. This could also be the time for the coach to try players like Kamocha Erick and others.

Manfred Chabinga should stop being comfortable and ring serious changes to the team if they are to beat TIGERS and should the team remain the same and Mighty win, I think it will be the morale of the fans who are always passionate. TIGERS will have a busy game in Mufulira this coming weekend though but they may surprise Mighty Mufulira Wanderers.
I THINK TIGER AKANAKA

MY VERDICT: Mufulira Wanderers 2-1 Lusaka Tigers
