Cities’ Ebenezer Nii Arday tried his luck from 25 yards but his effort went wide.
Forward Diawise Taylor’s deflected strike put Karela United 1-0 ahead on 28th minute.
Cities had a penalty shout but referee Bismark Appiah wasn’t interested in that as he allowed play to continue.
Samuel Ofori made it two for his side on 42nd minute.
The first half of the game produced one yellow card.
Cities began dominated possession early on in the second period and created decent openings but failed to put them away.
Enos Adipah’s men put the icing on the cake with a third through Diawise Taylor ten minutes from full-time.
Cities pushed on for a consolation but Karela United held firm to snatch victory.
With this win, Karela United move up to 10th with 8 points. They next travel away to play on-form Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park while Legon Cities return Home to face Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium.
