Inter Allies and Hearts of Oak played to a fascinating clash between sides sharing the Accra Sports Stadium as home grounds in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League.
The match Day 13 fixture ended 1-1 with goals from Samuel Armah and Mohammed Alhassan for either side entertaining the fans.
Frederick Ansah Botchway and Emmanuel Nettey were not in Heart of Oak’s Match Day squad due to a knee problem and suspension respectively.
It was a balanced game in the opening minutes with chances at both ends but couldn’t utilize them.
On 19 minutes, Hearts of Oak wanted a penalty after Joseph Esso was floored in the Inter Allies area but referee Benjamin Kwame Sefa waved play on, much to the displeasure of the away supporters.
Moments later, the striker was booked for a foul on Paul Abanga.
Inter Allies took the lead through Samuel Armah on 37 minutes – assisted by Victorien Adebayor the topscorer in the league with 11 goals.
Hearts of Oak probed for the equalizer late on but couldn’t fetch it as Inter Allies headed into the break with their solitary lead.
Benjamin Agyare had a golden opportunity to put his side level but missed the target after a spell of exchanges in the second half.
Mohammed Alhassan finally grabbed the leveller for the Phobians five minutes from time from Raddy Ovuoka’s freekick.
Both side chased for the winner but couldn’t find as the referee blew his whistle to end the encounter 1-1.
Inter Allies will make a short trip to Dansoman to tackle Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park while Hearts of Oak host Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium in Match Day 14 which will run from March 10-12, 2020.
