Dreams FC suffered a 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko in Match Day 9 game staged at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu on Sunday afternoon.
Abdul Bashiru’s own goal gift Asante Kotoko all three points. The visitors got proceedings to a flying start in pursuit of an early goal but the home defense was as compact as they could.
Dreams FC made a couple of attacking moves but yielded no result.
Maxwell Konadu’s men aside the penalty appeal, made decent openings via Martin Antwi, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Kingsley Effah but could not found the onion bag.
0-0, the opening half of this exciting encounter ended with Dantani Amadu shown the red card – His second booking – for deliberately handling the ball with his hand and sent off by referee Obed Danquah.
Abdul Bashiru turned the ball into his own net from Imoro Ibrahim’s cross to give Asante Kotoko a 1-0 lead on 68 minutes.
Nine minutes later, substitute Richard Arthur almost made it two for the Porcupines after he was fed by William Opoku Mensah but his effort was cleared off the line.
Dreams FC did little in the second half to pull a leveler. It was a good win and three points for Asante Kotoko to take to Kumasi.
