Ivory Coast beat the Barea of Madagascar (2-1) this Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Ebimpé stadium in a match on match day three of the qualifiers of the CAN “Cameroon 2021”.
The Elephants revamped their hopes of qualifying from Group K with six points before the return match against the Malagasy on Tuesday, November 17th.
It was veteran Yao Kouassi Gervinho who opened the scoring in the 46th, opens a historical page of the Ebimpé-Anyama stadium which was inaugurated on October 3.
Making his first appearance for the Elephants, Sébastien Haller scored the second goal for the Eléphants to give a great cushion.
The Barea reduced the deficit through is Andriamahitsinoro Caralas but the hosts held on for the three points.
Madagascar remain on 6 points as they are still in it to qualify to Cameroon for the AFCON.
