Prince Opoku Agyemang double sinks the Phobians at Tarkwa
Prince Opoku Agyemang bagged a brace as Medeama SC beat Hearts of Oak 2-0 to worsen their woes at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa in the Match Day 2 of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League.
Medeama SC started proceedings stronger and were rewarded with a penalty in the early minutes for a handball decision by the referee. Striker Prince Opoku Agyemang made no mistake and scored from 12 yards to give Mauve and Yellows a 1-0 lead.
Youngster Abdul Manaf had an opportunity to put the Phobians on level terms but missed inside the 18-yard box.
On the 31st minute, Prince Opoku Agyemang extended Medeama’s advantage after Phobians a mix up between Mohammed Alhassan and goalkeeper Richmond Ayi.
Medeama SC continued from where they left off in the second period and got a third goal through substitute Nana Kofi Babil.
The Visitors huffed and puffed in search for a leveler but the homesters held on to snatch victory.
Medeama SC will travel to Dansoman to face Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park while Hearts of Oak welcome Ebusua Dwarfs to the Accra Sports Stadium in the Match Day 3 fixtures scheduled to take place between January 10-13.
