Medeama SC clinched a stunning 2-1 win to Inter Allies in Match Day 11 of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League on Wednesday afternoon.
Henrik Peters’ men brimmed with confidence as they returned home to Accra Sports Stadium on the back of two successive wins.
It was the away side who began the game on a pleasing note in pursuit of an early lead but Inter Allies’ backline was as solid as it could.
The Homers had a spell of exchanges and a string of opportunities but wasted all of them.
Nana Kofi Nabil hammered his side ahead with a sleek finish on 15 minute.
The host never relented on their efforts as they chased for the equalizer but couldn’t find it.
The Yellow and Mauves went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Inter Allies dominant with possession struggled to create opportunitues after recess.
On 58 minute, leading scorer, Prince Opoku Agyemang delivered a stunning drive outside the box but Gideon Ahenkorah in post for the Capelli Boys pushed it away for corner.
Five minutes later, Prince Opoku Agyemang doubled Medeama SC’s advantage with a fine strike from close range – His 8th in the ongoing league.
League’s top scorer, Victorien Adebayor pulled one back for his team two minute from time – His 11th of the campaign.
Hashmin Musah and Nana Kofi Babil had their names written in referee Mahama Ewuntonmah’s books for a rough tackle.
Inter Allies will next visit Cape Coast to face Ebusua Dwarfs while Medeama SC return Home to square-off Great Olympics in Match Day 11 scheduled for Feb 28-March 2.
