English Premier League club West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing Gambia midfielder Hamza Barry from Croatian side HNK Hajduk Split.
According to the Sun, David Moyes, appointed Hammers boss last week on a short-term deal, sees the Scorpions midfield kingpin as a target ahead of the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who has scored once and notched five assists this season, is reported to be worth £5million, a fee the British tabloid claims could make the former Gambia Ports Authority player an under-the-radar bargain.
The former Gambia U17 and U20 box-to-box midfielder caught the eyes of English clubs after strong performances against Moyes’ former side, Everton, in the play-off round of the UEFA Europa League.
Barry will become the third Gambian player to sign for a Premier League club after Omar Koroma and Modou Barrow, should the move go through.
