Manager of Asante Kotoko talisman Songne Yacouba, Mr Jesse Juantuah has debunked reports that his client has penned down a pre-contract with South African side Orlando Pirates.
Early this week, reports in the local media revealed that the Burkina Faso international had skipped a deal from Zambia giant ZESCO United and Al Hilal of Sudan for Orlando Pirates in a pre-contract.
Yacouba joined the Reds with a two-year deal and has one-year left with the Ghana Premier League record holders. He was instrumental in Kotoko campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup this year, where they got knocked out in the group stage.
“It is never true that Songne Yacouba has signed pre-contract with Orlando Pirates in South Africa. Songne Yacouba is at the sports hotel nursing his injury and he still remains a Kotoko Player”.
“Those who are trying to create problems between Yacouba and Kotoko should stop because we are not happy with the way things are going”, the Manager told Kumasi-based Ashh FM in an interview.
Juantuah, however, disclosed that the red-hot forward played with injury during their campaign in Africa and is currently nursing it.
He believes he will return to fitness for the Porcupine Warriors soon.
“Songne Yacouba has been going for checkups daily and he is hoping to recover on time to start playing games for Kotoko. Songne Yacouba was playing with injury throughout the African Confederation Cup campaign for Kotoko because of the love he has for the team”.
“Songne Yacouba would only leave Kotoko when the offers that comes are good and Kotoko is willing to let him leave the Club”, he added.
