Ghana parts ways with Head Coach Otto Addo
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the immediate departure of Otto Addo as Head Coach of the Black Stars, marking the end of his tenure with the national team.
The decision, communicated through an official statement, emphasized gratitude for Addo’s service and contributions in qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, while also noting that the Association will soon outline the new technical direction for the squad. This development comes at a critical juncture for Ghanaian football, as the team suffered two defeats in international friendly fixtures, a 5-1 loss to Austria and a 2-1 defeat to Germany last night.
Otto Addo, who previously served as assistant coach before stepping into the head role, brought a wealth of experience from both his playing career and coaching stints in Europe.
His departure signals a shift in the GFA’s vision, possibly toward a fresh philosophy or a new managerial profile.
For the GFA, the immediate task will be to identify a successor who can unify the squad and deliver results on the international stage. The Association’s statement hinted at a forthcoming communication on the technical direction, suggesting that deliberations are already underway.
